To qualify, an adult 65 or older needs to have at least one of these risk factors for diabetes:
- High blood pressure
- Family history of diabetes
- Obesity
- Diabetes during pregnancy
- History of high blood glucose (commonly referred to as high blood sugar)
- High cholesterol or high triglycerides
Those that qualify may be eligible for up to two free screenings each year. The screening consists of a blood glucose test that checks for diabetes and pre-diabetes.
