Medicare covers diabetes screening tests to check for diabetes. If you have one of the following conditions and are over 65 and in Medicare, there is a FREE diabetes screening test that you can ask your doctor for:
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol (dyslipidemia)
- Overweight
- History of high glucose or “sugar” (pre-diabetes)
- Family history of diabetes
- History of gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy) or a delivery of a baby weighing more than 9 pounds.
