Undiagnosed diabetes and pre-diabetes are significant problems among adults ages 65 and older in Georgia.

• There are over 1 million seniors ages 65+ in Georgia
  • Around 345,000 have diabetes
  • Around 150,000 have undiagnosed diabetes
  • Around 450,000 have pre-diabetes (virtually all are undiagnosed)
  • If undiagnosed and untreated, diabetes can often lead to serious health conditions including heart attack, stroke, blindness, kidney failure or amputations.
