Medicare Diabetes Screening Project (MDSP) annually offers awards of $2500 to local organizations that demonstrate how they can implement grassroots programs to promote the free diabetes screening benefit in Medicare.

As a 2009 Award Winner, the Watkins-Montour Lions Club in Watkins Glen, NY, organized a wellness walk to promote diabetes screening and awareness.

Past MDSP Award Winners have implemented unique outreach tactics to reach seniors in their respective communities. Activities have included material distribution, health fair participation, media campaigns, senior center briefings, theatre performances, and more.
